Below is a basic training pyramid showing the 4 main training progressions. It should be noted that not all us will progress from endurance to strength, as progression within the pyramid should be directly linked to goals. Progression can skip a section and fluctuate between training stimuli especially within a periodised programme. It is good practice to start at the endurance phase to correct/educate techniques whilst not excessively overloading in the early stages of training.
